Overview
Palm Valley Group is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Assistant / Accounting Clerk – Bookkeeper to support our daily accounting and bookkeeping operations.
The selected candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, payroll support, invoice processing, and basic financial reporting. This role is important in ensuring that company financial records are properly maintained and updated on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Record daily sales, expenses, purchase bills, invoices, and payment entries
- Maintain accurate accounts payable and accounts receivable records
- Prepare and process invoices, supplier payments, receipts, and expense reports
- Assist with bank, credit card, and POS reconciliation
- Support payroll-related documentation and payroll processing
- Maintain organized filing of invoices, receipts, bank statements, and accounting documents
- Assist with ledger entries, account reconciliation, and correction of basic accounting errors
- Prepare basic daily, weekly, and monthly sales and expense reports
- Support month-end and year-end accounting procedures
- Coordinate with the accountant, management, and auditors by providing required documents
- Follow up on pending invoices, supplier statements, and payment details
- Perform other administrative and accounting duties as required
Requirements
- Previous experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or office administration is preferred
- Basic knowledge of bookkeeping principles, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliation
- Experience with QuickBooks is preferred
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and basic reporting
- Ability to maintain accurate records and handle confidential financial information
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and complete tasks on time
- Good communication skills and willingness to coordinate with management and accounting teams
- Basic payroll knowledge is an asset but not mandatory
- Experience in restaurant, retail, grocery, or distribution accounting is an advantage

Pay: $35,000.00-$49,000.00 per year
