- Hi! We are looking for 1 happy, healthy dog daycare attendant for 1 position: Mondays and fridays from 1030am - 5 or 530pm.
These times are approximate. Some days vary by 30 mins or so based on how busy we are.
- This job is VERY physical and requires a great deal of walking multiple dogs at once in any weather plus physical work and cleaning at the daycare plus going up and down a long set of stairs for every dog dropped off and picked up by the owners. Also includes going to the beach with oher staff and many dogs so must be able to walk 7 or 8 dogs on leash plus be able to keep a close eye on all these dogs when they are off leash. Colleague will also have his own set of dogs. This job is a great deal of physical work. Candidates should be reasonably fit.
- Candidates with a valid driver's license and at least 3 years of driving experience STRONGLY PREFERRED
- 1 year of COMMERCIAL dog handling experience STRONGLY PREFERRED. PLZ outline this in a COVER LETTER. Applications without a cover letter will be rejected.
- We use only positive reinforcement training so if your methods are to frighten, yell, or do anything to a dog that would hurt or cause them fear, plz do not apply. Must be compassionate but not a push over. I will be interviewing what your normal reactions would be to certain situations presented by different dogs and what your response would be to each and then I will also need to observe how you respond to different types of dogs (Passive, neutral, assertive, bossy) to see what your responses will be in real time..
