UEC is seeking a Project Geologist to join our team. In this role, you will work with our Saskatoon-based Exploration team to advance our portfolio of uranium projects in Northern Saskatchewan. The role will support the planning, execution, and closing stages of various exploration activities including drill programs, geophysical surveys, mapping programs, and sampling programs. This position requires a strong understanding of geological principles, exploration techniques, regulatory requirements specific to uranium exploration, and the ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise exploration drill programs – regular field rotations to remote camp settings are required
- Ensure best practices are implemented across the project (i.e. geological data collection and documentation, environmental, and safety)
- Monitor contractors to ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and project timelines
- Interpret and report geological data and develop/maintain geological models and cross-sections
- Generate drill-ready targets and collaborate on drillhole planning
- Assist with geoscientific compilations, technical reports, and permit applications/closures
- Assist with developing and monitoring project budgets
- Effectively communicate project activities and technical results to a variety of audiences (Exploration management and Joint Venture partners)
- Supervise field staff and provide mentorship to junior personnel across exploration and delineation stages
- Commitment to developing and supporting a strong safety and environment culture
- Maintain positive relationships with project stakeholders
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology, or equivalent, and eligible for registration with APEGS
- 5+ years of experience in the exploration industry. Experience in uranium exploration and/or the Athabasca Basin is an asset
- Strong understanding of unconformity-related uranium deposits
- Proficient in various office and geological software programs (i.e. ArcGIS Pro, Datamine, DHLogger)
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills
- Eager to work in a team environment and collaborate with other professionals
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence
