Job Duties
- Milk cows
- Handling animals
- Monitoring animal health
- Detect disease and health problems in livestock
- Treat livestock health issues
- Perform livestock feeding
- Prepare a clean, dry area for cows that are calving
- Monitor the calving process
- Feed and tend animals
- Formulate feeding program
- Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment (including milk pasteurizer and filtration machines)
- Disinfect pens and barns
- Clean barns, barnyards and pens
- Maintain livestock performance records
- Examine product for quality and its readiness for the market
- Packaging dairy products
- Clean and maintain equipment and tools
- Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed
- Perform general farm duties
