About Medjoie
Medjoie Foods Inc. is a new Mediterranean specialty grocery and ready-to-eat food store opening in Port Coquitlam. We are building a small, reliable, clean, and customer-focused opening team.
We are looking for candidates who are serious about food retail, customer service, cleanliness, and teamwork.

Available Positions
We are hiring for the following roles:
1. Cashier / POS Staff
You will be responsible for customer checkout, POS operation, product scanning, basic customer service, and keeping the cashier station clean and organized.
Strong preference will be given to candidates with:
- Previous cashier experience
- Experience using Lightspeed POS
- Grocery, retail, café, bakery, or food-service experience
- Good attention to detail
- Ability to handle payments accurately
- Friendly and professional communication
Please do not apply for the cashier position if you have no cashier, POS, or customer-service experience.
2. Grocery / Stock / Receiving Staff
You will help receive deliveries, check products, stock shelves, rotate inventory, check expiry dates, maintain displays, and keep the grocery area clean.
Qualified candidates should have:
- Previous grocery, retail, warehouse, stocking, or receiving experience
- Ability to lift and move boxes safely
- Attention to expiry dates, labels, and product condition
- Good organization skills
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently after training
Language assets: Italian, Spanish, Turkish, Greek, Arabic, or Persian are considered an asset.
3. Prepared Food / Sandwich Staff
You will help prepare and assemble sandwiches, ready-to-eat foods, salads, and other approved menu items while following food-safety and sanitation standards.
Qualified candidates should have:
- Previous kitchen, deli, café, sandwich, bakery, or food-preparation experience
- Strong hygiene and sanitation habits
- Ability to follow recipes and portion standards
- Awareness of allergens and cross-contamination
- Ability to work cleanly and quickly
FoodSafe Level 1 is an asset.
Language assets: Italian, Spanish, Turkish, Greek, Arabic, or Persian are considered an asset.
4. Coffee / Beverage / Pastry Staff
You will serve coffee, tea, juice, pastries, sweets, and other counter items while maintaining a clean and attractive service area.
Qualified candidates should have:
- Previous café, bakery, beverage, pastry, or customer-service experience
- Ability to use tongs/gloves and follow food-safety rules
- Good presentation and customer-service skills
- Ability to keep the counter clean and stocked
- Barista experience is an asset
Language assets: Italian, Spanish, Turkish, Greek, Arabic, or Persian are considered an asset.
5. Cleaning / Sanitation Support Staff
You will help maintain daily cleaning, sanitation, garbage removal, floor care, dish/utensil cleaning, and inspection-ready store standards.
Qualified candidates should have:
- Previous cleaning, food-service, grocery, restaurant, or janitorial experience
- Strong understanding of cleanliness and hygiene
- Ability to follow a cleaning checklist
- Reliability and attention to detail
- Ability to work without constant supervision after training
6. Shift Leader / Senior Team Member
This role is for experienced candidates only. You will help supervise opening/closing, staff tasks, customer issues, food-safety checks, POS issues, and daily store readiness.
Qualified candidates should have:
- Previous supervisor, lead hand, grocery, café, bakery, deli, or restaurant experience
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to train and guide other staff
- Experience handling customer issues
- POS experience
- Food safety and sanitation awareness
