Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Part Time Meals on Wheels Cook to prepare nutritious and delicious meals for our community members. This role is vital in ensuring that clients receive quality food in a timely and safe manner. The ideal candidate will have experience in food preparation, cooking, and food safety, with a passion for serving others. This position offers an opportunity to make a positive impact through meal service.
Duties
- Prepare and cook meals according to menus and dietary guidelines
- Ensure all food handling and preparation adhere to food safety standards
- Package meals for delivery
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and organizing supplies
- Monitor inventory levels and notify Kitchen Lead of supply needs
- Follow all health and safety regulations during meal preparation and service
Skills
- Experience in food preparation, cooking, or food service roles, preferably within the food industry or restaurant environment
- Strong knowledge of food handling procedures and food safety protocols
- Ability to prepare meals efficiently while maintaining quality standards
- Excellent organizational skills for meal prep and kitchen maintenance
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Good communication skills to coordinate with team members and assist clients as needed
- Familiarity with meal preparation for special dietary needs is a plus
