We are seeking an experienced and motivated Sous Chef to support daily kitchen operations and help lead our culinary team. The ideal candidate is highly skilled on the hotline, organized under pressure, knowledgeable in food preparation and kitchen operations, and confident in supervising and training staff. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and time management skills while maintaining the highest standards of food quality, consistency, and cleanliness.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef/Executive Chef in managing daily kitchen operations
- Lead and work efficiently on the hotline during service
- Ensure all dishes are prepared and presented to company standards
- Supervise, support, and motivate kitchen staff during prep and service
- Train new and existing team members on recipes, plating, procedures, and kitchen standards
- Maintain consistency, quality control, and portion standards
- Help manage prep lists, inventory, ordering, and waste control
- Ensure all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations are followed
- Monitor kitchen cleanliness and organization throughout all shifts
- Assist with scheduling and delegation of daily tasks
- Step into leadership roles when the Executive Chef is absent
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef or strong leadership experience in a high-volume kitchen
- Extensive hotline experience with the ability to perform under pressure
- Strong culinary knowledge including cooking techniques, food safety, and kitchen organization
- Proven leadership and team management abilities
- Experience in training and developing kitchen staff
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multitask and maintain composure in fast-paced environments
- Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
