Our Oakville location is looking for a Chemical Handler/Receiver.
Please note, this position is not a lab role, it is a very physical job controlling, monitoring and maintaining various chemicals processes as it relates to specific operating equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure smooth and safe operations
- Complete required checklists accurately and on time
- Identify and report safety hazards, equipment issues, or deficiencies promptly
- Fill chemical tanks and maintain accurate production records
- Offload tank trucks and totes in accordance with safety procedures
- Manage chemical, empty, and waste totes and drums, ensuring proper handling and storage
- Clean parts for second pour operations (Operator 2 responsibilities)
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas, including emptying garbage bins and general housekeeping
- Monitor production processes and report any concerns or irregularities
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Department Supervisor
Requirements:
- College level education in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
- Minimum 2+ years of manufacturing experience
- Must have the ability to repeatedly lift 50 lbs. (22.68 kgs)
- Knowledge and experience with a process control system in controlling reactions and processes an asset
- Mechanical aptitude, including knowledge and use of hand tools
- Ability to read, write, understand and communicate effectively in English
- Ability to perform basic mathematical functions
- Able to work outside in all weather conditions
- Flexibility required to work overtime at times for our 24/7 manufacturing operation
