Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Shift Manager to oversee daily operations in a fast-paced food service environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive restaurant and hospitality experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves supervising staff, ensuring food safety standards, managing customer interactions, and maintaining efficient kitchen and restaurant operations. Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, POS systems such as Micros POS, and restaurant management is highly desirable. The Shift Manager will play a vital role in fostering a positive team environment while ensuring operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily restaurant operations during assigned shifts, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to company standards
- Lead and motivate team members, including interviewing and training new staff to uphold high service quality
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and food handling procedures to maintain food safety and quality standards
- Manage cash handling processes, including POS transactions using Micros POS or similar systems
- Ensure excellent customer service by addressing guest concerns promptly and professionally
- Enforce health and safety regulations related to food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety
- Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely order fulfillment and proper food presentation
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed
- Uphold hospitality standards consistent with hotel or restaurant experience expectations
- Handle operational issues efficiently while maintaining a positive work environment
Skills
- Proven supervisory experience within the food industry or restaurant management roles
- Strong leadership abilities with excellent team management skills
- Proficiency in food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety protocols
- Experience with POS systems, particularly Micros POS or similar platforms
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to handle challenging situations gracefully
- Effective communication skills for interviewing, training, and team coordination
- Knowledge of restaurant operations, hospitality standards, and kitchen procedures
- Ability to manage cash handling accurately and responsibly
- Previous hotel or barista experience is a plus but not required
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team in a high-volume environment with professionalism and efficiency
