About Staffmax
Staffmax is a Winnipeg-based staffing and recruiting firm placing talent across commercial, industrial, and professional roles for clients in Canada, the U.S., the U.K., and Australia. We move quickly, we deliver, and we are growing our local team. This role is based out of our Winnipeg office.
The Role
We are hiring a Recruiter to own high-volume, fast-turnaround hiring for our commercial clients. You will manage the full recruitment cycle — sourcing, screening, interviewing, and placing temporary and contract workers — often filling multiple roles against tight deadlines. This is a hands-on, target-driven seat for someone who already knows agency or high-volume recruiting and thrives on pace.
What You'll Do
- Manage full-cycle recruitment for temporary and contract roles: sourcing, screening, interviewing, reference checks, and placement.
- Run high-volume and bulk hiring campaigns, filling multiple positions simultaneously while keeping quality high.
- Build and maintain an active pipeline of pre-screened candidates ready to deploy on short notice.
- Write and post job ads across job boards, social channels, and our careers page; source passive candidates proactively.
- Partner with clients and account managers to understand staffing needs, role requirements, and start dates.
- Keep candidate and order records accurate and current in our applicant tracking system (ATS).
- Coordinate onboarding, compliance, and documentation so placements start on time and without issues.
- Hit weekly and monthly placement and fill-rate targets in a metrics-driven environment.
What You Bring
- Required — 1+ years of recruiting experience with a staffing agency, or in a talent acquisition role doing bulk / high-volume hiring.
- A track record of filling multiple roles quickly without sacrificing candidate quality.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment where priorities shift through the day.
- Strong sourcing instincts across job boards, social media, referrals, and your own network.
- Confident communicator who builds rapport fast with both candidates and clients.
- Organized and self-directed, with the ability to manage a high requisition load.
- Hands-on experience with an applicant tracking system (ATS); Bullhorn is an asset.
- Legally entitled to work in Canada and able to work on-site in Winnipeg.
What We Offer
- Base salary of $50,000–$60,000, commensurate with experience.
- Uncapped commission on placements — your results drive your earnings.
- Comprehensive health and dental benefits.
- A growing, international staffing platform with room to advance as we scale.
