Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. This role involves managing patient interactions, maintaining electronic medical records, and ensuring smooth daily operations. You would be overseeing a patient roster of a single early-practice Endocrinologist at a shared community clinic in Richmond Hill. The position will start in September 2026.
Prior experience with electronic health record systems and office management is highly valued.
Duties
- Greet patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner at the front desk
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments as needed.
- Manage multi-line phone systems to handle inquiries, appointment requests, and follow-ups
- Verify patient insurance information and update electronic medical records accurately
- Assist with weighing patients, and taking basic vital signs as required
- Maintain organized patient files and ensure compliance with confidentiality standards
- Prepare and process paperwork for procedures, referrals, and billing purposes
- Support clinical staff by handling administrative tasks related to patient care coordination
- Ensure the reception area remains clean, organized, and welcoming
Relevant Skills
- Proficiency with the Accuro EMR system is highly valued
- Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to healthcare
- Experience with office management software and administrative procedures
- Strong communication and organization skills
- Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist is a plus
- Experience taking basic vital signs is a valued but not required
