Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heavy machinery and industrial equipment. (Mainly Cat) This role requires strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency with hand tools and power tools, and the ability to work on diverse equipment including excavators, dozers, rock trucks, skid steers, loaders. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will ensure all machinery operates safely and efficiently, supporting our operations across multiple sites.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, rock trucks, skid steers, loaders.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues using schematics and diagnostic tools
- Repair or replace faulty components utilizing welding, assembly skills, and power tools
- Conduct engine repairs on Caterpillar and other industrial engines
- Maintain accurate service records and document repairs performed
- Assist with equipment assembly and installation as needed
- Operate heavy machinery for testing or troubleshooting purposes when required
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and manufacturer specifications
- Provide excellent customer service to internal teams by communicating repair status and recommendations
Experience
- Proven mechanic experience with heavy equipment or industrial machinery
- Dealership experience is preferred
- Hands-on experience with excavators, dozers, rock trucks, skid steers, loaders is desirable
- Knowledge of schematics for electrical systems and mechanical components
- Skilled in welding, use of hand tools, power tools, and heavy lifting techniques
- Familiarity with maintenance procedures for Caterpillar equipment or similar brands
- Ability to operate heavy equipment operation tools safely and effectively
- Strong understanding of automotive repair principles applied to industrial machinery
- Prior experience working in a fast-paced environment with a focus on safety and quality standards
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $35.00-$45.00 per hour
