The Construction Site Supervisor will be responsible for the supervision of all construction activities that take place on the work site, ensuring high standards of workmanship and efficiency. The Site Supervisor will be responsible for the management of all on-site construction workers and enforcement of all required safety and work regulation policies. All work crews and individuals on-site shall take direction from the site supervisor, who is responsible for assigning required work and applying resources to accomplish that work. Construction Site Supervisors are responsible for the efficient use of labour, machines, and materials by their crews, and will report daily to the Project Manager on site details and safety. Other responsibilities will include the planning and scheduling of work, maintain records of all materials used and the progress made on a job. While this job is mainly a position of supervision and management, the Construction Site Supervisor will be required to complete some hands-on work on site on a limited basis.
Scope
· Manage all on-site construction activities to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
· Supervise and coordinate subcontractors, tradespeople, and site workers.
· Ensure compliance with Canadian safety regulations (OHSA, WSIB, WHMIS, COR, etc.).
- Monitor project progress and provide updates to project team.
- Interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications to ensure accuracy in execution.
- Conduct regular site inspections to maintain quality control and workplace safety.
· Coordinate material deliveries and equipment logistics.
- Maintain detailed project documentation and reports.
- Provide daily updates to the Project Manager and/or Project Coordinator
Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Architectural Technology, Construction Engineering Technology or equivalent field experience is required.
- Experience in commercial, ICI, construction
- Thorough understanding and ability to interpret drawings and specifications.
- Strong analytical and detail-oriented skills are critical, along with exceptional time management and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills, both orally and written
- Self-motivated with strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all teams and levels in the organization
- Ability to use simple hand tools and some handyman skills for some hands-on work on site.
- Valid G drivers’ licence with clear drivers abstract required.
- Ability to pass security screening
Location: Ajax Head office and Project Sites within Ontario.
Vehicle: Company Vehicle (Cargo Van) will be provided for use
