Job Title: Order Picker (Available Immediatley)
Shift: 8am-4:30pm Mon-Fri
Payrate: $19.00 per hour to start
Location: Hwy 400/Hwy 7 (Concord)
Permanent after 3 months of probation
Our client is a distributer of HVAC products and plumbing supplies. They are looking for an order picker for their busy warehouse
DETAILED DUTIES
Order Picking:
o Review the work orders already in your scheduled planner for the day and add any others that may have arrived from the night before. Note and attend to anything requiring special handling first, such as rush requests, special handling, customer on the way.
o Advice the Materials Leader of any problems you may have encountered during the time He wasn’t present for the preparation of your orders, such as shortages, damaged products, etc.
o Prepare any new orders that are received from our sales team. Pick, double check and pack the orders.
o When picking an order carefully match the requirement that appears in the Pick pack to the bin description and part number. Pick the exact amount required.
o Stage the packaged products in the staging area and have a second person verify that your order was picked properly and accurately
o Once verification occurs label all boxes clearly with the customer’s name, job name and Order reference numbers.
o Advise the shipper/scheduler that order is ready to ship.
o Put the finished order in its appropriate shipping and staging shelf.
o Plan and stage the deliveries for the following day. Consult with the Sales and Materials personnel on priorities, changes, re-routing, site conditions, special instructions and customer’s preferences.
Other Related Duties
o If required, participate in the movement of the order picking carts, pipe carts, forklifts and material handling equipment.
o Work closely with the Materials Leader in the maintenance of the storage bins and in the identification and use of the storage spots in the warehouse.
o Sweep floors clean of any dirt, obstructive refuse or garbage. Keep work areas free of clutter and debris.
o Other customer services duties as assigned by your supervisor or the Branch Manager.
The candidate to this key job function will be considered more strongly if She/He has any of the following proficiencies:
- Able to drive forklifts capable of handling and moving skids, crates and pipe products of various physical shapes.
- Able to communicate with various parties interested in the movement of goods, internal and external.
- Knowledge of inventory controls
- Maintenance of inventory shelves, boxes, bins, etc.
- Proficiency with computer related work.
- Maintenance of clean and orderly work areas
- Must have experience with Narrow Isle/reach truck
- Good knowledge of the geographical area our company serves
