Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our veterinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in animal care, veterinary procedures, and technical skills to support our veterinarians in providing exceptional medical services. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a focus on animal health and well-being, including both small and large animals. The RVT will play a vital role in patient care, laboratory work, and assisting with various veterinary procedures.
Duties
- Assist veterinarians with medical examinations, treatments, and surgeries for a variety of animals including dogs and cats.
- Perform laboratory tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and other diagnostic procedures.
- Handle animal restraint and restraint techniques to ensure safety during examinations and procedures.
- Conduct animal catheterization, injections, and administer medications following aseptic techniques.
- Maintain accurate medical records and document all treatments and procedures performed.
- Assist with pet care, and animal husbandry tasks to ensure the comfort and health of patients.
- Operate diagnostic equipment including X-ray machines and assist with radiographic procedures.
- Handle laboratory tasks related to veterinary critical care and other specialized testing.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols related to animal handling, laboratory procedures, and clinical environments.
Qualifications
- Valid RVT license or certification required.
- Experience with animal handling, restraint techniques, catheterization, and laboratory procedures.
- Familiarity with dental terminology, and X-ray operation is advantageous.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills with an empathetic approach toward animals and clients. This position offers an engaging opportunity for experienced (or new grad) RVTs committed to animal health excellence within a professional veterinary setting.
Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
