About the Role
Reporting to the Area Manager, the Community Manager is responsible for the overall operation and performance of a residential property portfolio. This role oversees resident relations, maintenance coordination, financial performance, and day-to-day property operations.
The successful candidate is customer-focused, highly organized, results-driven, and passionate about creating exceptional resident experiences.
What You Will Do
Resident Relations
- Build and maintain positive relationships with residents through exceptional customer service and proactive communication.
- Respond to resident concerns and inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Support resident retention initiatives and community engagement activities.
- Ensure a positive resident experience throughout the tenancy lifecycle.
Leasing and Occupancy
- Manage the full leasing process, including lead follow-up, property tours, application processing, and lease execution.
- Achieve occupancy targets through effective leasing and marketing initiatives.
- Monitor local market conditions and competitor activity.
- Ensure leasing documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant.
Property Operations and Maintenance
- Conduct regular property inspections to maintain cleanliness, safety, and curb appeal.
- Coordinate maintenance requests and follow up to ensure timely completion.
- Work closely with maintenance staff, contractors, and vendors.
- Assist with capital projects and preventative maintenance programs.
- Respond to emergencies and operational issues as required.
Financial Management
- Support annual budget planning and expense management.
- Monitor revenue, collections, and operating expenses.
- Assist with rent collection and arrears management.
- Prepare operational and financial reports as required.
Administration and Compliance
- Manage lease renewals, notices, move-ins, and move-outs.
- Maintain accurate resident and property records.
- Ensure compliance with residential tenancy legislation and company policies.
- Support health and safety initiatives and risk management programs.
What You Bring
- Previous experience in residential property management, leasing, hospitality, customer service leadership, or a related field.
- Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience working with budgets, collections, and operational reporting is considered an asset.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience using Yardi or other property management software is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of residential tenancy legislation is considered an asset.
- Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation.
