Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Controller to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing cost-related activities to ensure financial efficiency and accuracy across various departments. This role requires strong expertise in accounting software, account reconciliation, budgeting, and financial analysis to support strategic decision-making and maintain financial integrity within the organization.
Duties
- Monitor and control costs across projects and departments to ensure adherence to budgets
- Perform account reconciliation and bank reconciliation to verify financial accuracy
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, or similar systems
- Conduct regular auditing of financial records to identify discrepancies or irregularities
- Prepare detailed account analysis reports for management review
- Assist with payroll processing and related financial services
- Support budgeting activities by analyzing expenses and forecasting future costs
- Maintain accurate bookkeeping records and ensure compliance with financial policies
- Collaborate with internal teams to optimize cost-saving initiatives and improve financial workflows
Qualifications
- Proven experience with accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bookkeeping practices
- Experience in corporate finance, auditing, and financial analysis
- Proficiency in account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and account analysis
- Familiarity with payroll processing and budgeting procedures
- Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical skills
- Ability to interpret financial data accurately and communicate findings effectively
- Prior experience in financial services or related fields is preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is advantageous
