Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Loader to join our warehouse team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient loading and unloading of materials, contributing to the overall productivity of our operations. This position requires a strong attention to detail, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to operate various equipment safely and effectively.
Duties
- Load and unload materials from trucks and containers using forklifts, pallet jacks, and clamp trucks.
- Operate heavy equipment including cranes and order pickers as needed for efficient material handling.
- Ensure accurate order picking by utilizing RF scanners and warehouse management systems.
- Perform shipping and receiving tasks, verifying incoming and outgoing shipments against purchase orders.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to OSHA safety standards.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any mechanical issues.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow and address any operational challenges.
- Assist in heavy lifting tasks as required, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times.
Experience
- Previous experience in warehouse distribution or similar roles is preferred.
- Familiarity with materials handling techniques and heavy lifting practices is essential.
- Experience operating forklifts, cranes, or other heavy equipment is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of shipping & receiving processes along with order picking procedures is beneficial.
- A background in construction or mechanical fields can be an advantage.
