We are seeking a motivated Boat Detailer ,to join our marine service team. The Yard Person is responsible for assisting with the daily operations of the marine service team, cleaning and buffing boats. In this energetic role, you’ll be responsible for transforming boats into pristine, showroom-ready masterpieces. From thorough cleaning to polishing and finishing touches, you’ll ensure each vessel looks its absolute best. . Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive cleaning and detailing of boats, including washing, , polishing, and buffing to achieve a high-gloss finish
- Use specialized tools and products for buffing, window tinting, and surface restoration to enhance boat appearance
- Maintain cleanliness of the work area
- Wash and clean boat exteriors (hull, deck, windows)
- Clean interiors (seats, carpets, cabins, storage areas)
- Remove oxidation, stains, mold, and mildew
- Apply protective coatings (wax, sealants)
- Maintain teak wood and other specialty materials
- Inspect surfaces for damage or wear and report issues
- Use proper marine-grade cleaning tools and chemicals
- Ensure all safety procedures are followed during cleaning processes and when handling equipment or chemicals
Qualifications
- Attention to detail (spotting grime, oxidation, minor damage)
- Knowledge of cleaning products and techniques
- Physical stamina (lifting, bending, working in tight spaces)
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather
- Time management and efficiency
- Basic knowledge of boat materials (fiberglass, gel coat, metal, wood)
