Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have experience in dedication and passion in the culinary industry. A desire to continue to learn and evolve with changing trends. Ability to lead and oversee staff and communicate with FOH and the management team. As the Sous Chef, you will play a vital role in creating delicious meals that meet our high standards of quality and presentation. This position requires a commitment to maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen while working efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Skills
- 5+ years of culinary management and/or supervisory role
- Ability to effectively lead a team of kitchen staff, delegate tasks, and provide guidance and support.
- Knowledge of current trends and developments in the food industry.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and kitchen equipment.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in food handling.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, Inventory, Scheduling & POS software
- Commitment to providing excellent customer service and creating a positive dining experience for guests.
- Understanding of restaurant operations, including front-of-house and back-of-house dynamics.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- A passion for cooking and creating high-quality meals that delight customers
Duties
- Assist with menu development, inventory and labor controls
- Oversee staff and ensure proper plating and cooking methods are adhered to, maintaining highest level of quality
- Assist the chef with creation of new exciting daily specials
- Oversee kitchen operations when the Chef is away
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menus.
- Assist in meal preparation, ensuring all ingredients are prepped and ready for service.
- Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout the cooking process.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service and quality control.
- Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist with ordering as needed.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas regularly.
- Train new kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques and food handling procedures.
