Job Description:
We are looking for a reliable and proactive Property Maintenance Technician ( Handyman) to join our team. This role involves performing various maintenance tasks and repairs across multiple client properties and offices. If you have strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and enjoy hands-on work, we encourage you to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform basic repairs and maintenance tasks on client properties and offices, including but not limited to :
General Repairs and Maintenance
Fixing Leaky Faucets: Replacing washers or cartridge in leaky faucets.
Repairing Drywall: Patching holes, fixing cracks, and painting over repairs.
Changing Light Bulbs: Replacing bulbs, fixtures, and troubleshooting electrical issues.
Cleaning Gutters: Removing debris and ensuring proper drainage.
Replacing Cabinet Hardware: Installing new handles, knobs, and hinges.
Basic repairs and maintenance of client properties and offices
Install and remove Real Estate signage
Equipment
Use of power tools
Use of hand tools
Use of ladders
Plumbing
Unclogging Drains: Using plungers, snakes, or other tools to clear blockages.
Installing Fixtures: Setting up sinks, faucets, and showerheads.
Replacing Pipes: Fixing or replacing damaged or leaking pipes.
Repairing Toilets: Fixing flushing mechanisms, seals, and other components.
Electrical
Installing Outlets: Adding new electrical outlets or replacing existing ones.
Replacing Switches: Updating or repairing light switches and dimmers.
Installing Light Fixtures: Mounting ceiling fans, chandeliers, or other lighting fixtures.
Troubleshooting Electrical Issues: Identifying and fixing basic electrical problems.
Carpentry
Building or Repairing Furniture: Assembling or fixing chairs, tables, and shelves.
Installing Trim and Molding: Adding or repairing baseboards, crown molding, and door frames.
Fixing Doors and Windows: Adjusting or repairing hinges, locks, and frames.
Flooring
Installing Floor Coverings: Laying tile, laminate, vinyl, or hardwood flooring if applicable.
Repairing Flooring: Fixing damaged tiles, wood planks, or other flooring materials.
Grouting: Replacing or repairing grout between tiles.
Painting
Interior Painting: Preparing surfaces, painting walls, ceilings, and trim.
Touch-Up Painting: Fixing minor paint issues and matching colors.
Exterior Painting: Painting or staining outdoor surfaces such as siding, fences, and decks.
Tiling
Installing Tiles: Laying ceramic, porcelain, or stone tiles on floors and walls.
Grouting Tiles: Applying and sealing grout between tiles.
Repairing Tile Work: Fixing cracked or loose tiles.
General Home Improvement
Assembling Furniture: Putting together flat-pack furniture and other items.
Hanging Pictures and Shelves: Installing and securing wall-mounted items.
Installing Blinds and Curtains: Mounting window treatments and hardware.
Sealing Drafts: Caulking around windows and doors to improve insulation.
Outdoor Work
Deck Maintenance: Cleaning, staining, or repairing wooden decks.
Fence Repair: Fixing or replacing damaged sections of fences.
Lawn Care: Basic gardening tasks such as mowing, weeding, and planting.
Ladder work and some heights are required .
Requirements:
Previous experience in property maintenance , contracting or handyman service is required
Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent oral communication, and a keen eye for detail are essential. The candidate must be organized, reliable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
Ability to handle weights of up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and 45 kg (100 lbs).
A vehicle will be provided by the employer. A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are required. Must be bondable with a clear background check.
