Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Equipment Operator to join our house construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating various machinery and equipment, ensuring quality standards are met, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. This role requires operating skid steers, plate compactors, mini and full size excavators, a loader, a rock truck and a soil screening plant. The ideal candidate will be proficient in earthworks, building site prep, retaining walls, residential underground servicing, drainage piping, backfilling foundations, screening topsoil and landscape final grading.
As an employee of the developer and builder, you will be expected to get out of the machines to perform whatever tasks are necessary to keep the building program moving forward. Non-operator tasks may include cleaning up debris and scrap materials, installing Cribbing for concrete driveways and walkways, installing fencing, patio pavers, turf and plants, helping framers stand up a wall, etc.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret building plans to prepare building pads for concrete foundations
- Operate skid steers, excavators, loader, rock truck to perform earthworks at a single long-term, large scale residential construction site in Langford, BC
- Use hand tools, power tools, and laser levels to install underground pipe
- Maintain equipment by performing routine inspections, cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs.
- Adhere to safety protocols including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of materials.
- Coordinate activities and timing with other trades
Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
