We take pride in running well-maintained equipment, producing quality work, and building a strong team culture focused on safety, accountability, and respect.We are currently looking for an experienced Backhoe Operator to join our field crew.What You’ll DoYou’ll safely operate and maintain Backhoe equipment on active civil construction sites throughout Metro Vancouver. This role requires a skilled operator who can work efficiently around existing utilities, municipal traffic, tight sites, and live roadways while maintaining high production and safety standards.Equipment operated includes:
- Brand new Case 590 Backhoe
- Cat 430 Backhoe
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate Backhoe equipment in accordance with company and site safety procedures.
- Perform detailed trenching and excavation around underground utilities.
- Fine grade using both front and rear buckets.
- Operate 4-in-1 loader bucket functions proficiently.
- Load tandem and tridem dump trucks efficiently and safely.
- Complete backfilling, ho-packing, and road prep operations.
- Assist with asphalt, curb, and sidewalk preparation.
- Work safely on active municipal roads with live traffic and multiple underground services.
- Complete daily equipment inspections, greasing, and fluid checks.
- Maintain equipment cleanliness and overall condition.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, ground crews, and other operators.
- Assist labour crews when required.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of Backhoe operating experience in civil construction.
- Experience working in Metro Vancouver municipal environments.
- Strong understanding of safe excavation practices and utility awareness.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a crew.
- Valid BC Driver’s License.
- Clean driver’s abstract.
- Physically fit and capable of working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic, professionalism, and reliability.
