We are looking for a Fit & Spec Technician to join a reputable manufacturer in the Montreal Fashion industry! Full time. Permanent.
Job Description
- Manage and prioritize workload to ensure all deadlines are met consistently
- Collaborate with Design, Sourcing, Production, and cross-functional teams throughout development
- Partner closely with Designers to support product development and fit accuracy
- Develop garment specifications and execute grading across styles
- Prepare and maintain detailed tech packs, including sewing instructions and measurement specs
- Evaluate fit samples, provide comments, and implement necessary technical adjustments
- Advise internal teams on fit issues and construction improvements
- Review vendor requirements related to fit and update systems accordingly
- Communicate with suppliers to ensure clarity on specifications and expectations
- Follow up with overseas QC teams to review reports and secure approvals prior to shipment
- Track factory timelines to ensure timely sample submissions and avoid delays
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in fit and specifications within the apparel industry
- Strong understanding of garment construction and technical design
- Experience working with major retailers and their requirements
- Solid pattern-making experience across categories (knits, wovens, dresses, swimwear, sleepwear)
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and customer requirements
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
