Job Summary
We’re seeking a passionate and dedicated REP Basketball Coach to join our competitive youth basketball program. We are located in Vaughan, Ontario - by Wonderland.
Program Details
- Season: Mid-September to Mid-June
- Practices: 2x per week (90 minutes each) — coach selects preferred days and times
- Games:
- Fall/Winter: ~30–40 games (OBL, Coalition leagues)
- Spring: 10–12 games
- Typically 2 game every other weekend starting mid-November
- Mostly within GTA, occasional travel (e.g., Niagara)
Responsibilities
- Lead engaging practice sessions to build skills
- Teach game strategies, techniques, and basketball rules
- Inspire and motivate players during practices and competitions
- Evaluate player performance and provide clear, constructive feedback
- Ensure a safe, positive environment for all athletes
- Get to practices and game on time.
Qualifications
- Previous coaching or competitive playing experience preferred
- Background Check
- NCCP Certified, or willing to obtain it
- Strong grasp of basketball fundamentals and team strategies
- Effective communication and leadership skills
- Solid understanding of basketball rules and regulations
