We are currently seeking to add a Parts Person to our growing team.
Title: Parts Person
Location: Edmonton, AB
Position Type: Permanent Full Time
Reporting To: Parts Supervisor
Responsibilities and Duties
· Assist the maintenance department supervisors and technicians with parts requests
· Identify required parts using parts manuals when necessary
· Source and order parts in a timely manner ensuring cost efficiency
· Research and source hard-to-find or specialty parts
· Obtain pricing, quotes, and lead times from suppliers
· Arrange and follow up on vendor repairs and rebuilds of parts and components
· Pull inventory and prepare parts orders and required
· Arrange pick-ups and deliveries, and follow up on outstanding backorders
· Assist with warranty claims and returns
· Ensure daily paperwork and data entry is complete and up to date
· Assist with shipping, receiving, and inventory control
· Adhere to company’s safety program
· Other duties as required by Parts Supervisor
· Assist other departments
Qualifications and Skills
· Experience in construction, or heavy equipment industries is preferred
· Knowledge of heavy equipment components and industrial parts
· CAT SIS and Partstore experience is considered a strong asset
· My Komatsu and Eportal experience are considered a strong asset
· Knowledge of sourcing parts and components
· Strong understanding of warehousing and inventory control
· Ability to read parts manuals, equipment breakdowns, and identify correct components
· Proficient in Microsoft Excel and inventory/purchasing software
· Strong communication and organizational skills
· Ability to multitask and work under pressure in fast-paced environment
· Class 5 driving license with clean drive’s abstract
· Physically capable and able to lift 50+ lbs
· Ability to operate skid steer / forklift / loader considered an asset
· Ability to work weekends, evenings, and overtime
