Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Kitchen Manager to support the daily operations of our busy restaurant. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive food industry knowledge, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves overseeing food preparation, supervising staff, ensuring food safety standards, and maintaining efficient restaurant operations to provide an outstanding dining experience.
Duties
- Assist in managing daily kitchen operations, including food preparation and cooking to ensure quality standards are met.
- Supervise kitchen staff, including training, scheduling, and performance management to foster a productive team environment.
- Oversee food handling procedures, ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Manage POS systems such as Micros POS for order processing and cash handling responsibilities accurately.
- Support interviewing and onboarding of new team members to build a competent workforce.
- Collaborate with restaurant management on inventory control, ordering supplies, and maintaining cleanliness standards.
- Ensure excellent customer service by addressing guest concerns and maintaining high hospitality standards.
- Assist in managing restaurant operations during shifts, including serving guests when necessary and supporting overall team management.
Requirements
- Proven experience in food service, restaurant management, or hospitality roles with supervisory responsibilities.
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food safety practices.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Micros POS and cash handling procedures.
- Leadership skills with experience in team management, interviewing, and training staff.
- Knowledge of the food industry, including restaurant experience, kitchen operations, and customer service excellence.
- Previous hotel or barista experience is a plus but not required.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to uphold high standards of food handling, safety regulations, and sanitation practices. Pay: From $40,432.40 per year
