We are seeking an accomplished business development leader to drive the growth of innovative district energy and thermal energy infrastructure projects across Western Canada.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the identification, origination, and advancement of district energy and thermal infrastructure opportunities throughout Western Canada.
- Develop and execute market growth strategies that expand the organization's presence and influence within the energy and infrastructure sectors.
- Build and maintain senior-level relationships with developers, municipalities, utilities, institutional clients, architects, engineers, and industry partners.
- Serve as a trusted advisor and market ambassador, representing the organization at industry conferences, committees, stakeholder meetings, and public forums.
- Champion complex business development pursuits, leading multi-stakeholder engagement strategies and opportunity advancement efforts.
- Collaborate with technical, operational, commercial, and financial teams to develop compelling project solutions and business cases.
- Provide leadership and strategic direction throughout the opportunity lifecycle, from early market engagement through project development.
- Monitor industry trends, policy developments, and emerging technologies that influence district energy and sustainable infrastructure markets.
- Mentor and influence internal teams while contributing to the organization's long-term growth strategy and leadership objectives.
What the Successful Candidate Will Bring
- 10+ years of experience in business development, infrastructure, engineering consulting, energy, utilities, or real estate development.
- Engineering degree, PEng an asset
- Demonstrated success leading complex business development initiatives and securing high-value project opportunities.
- Experience within a mechanical, electrical, civil, building systems, or infrastructure consulting environment is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of district energy systems, thermal energy infrastructure, building energy systems, or community energy planning.
- An established network within the AEC (Architecture, Engineering & Construction), development, municipal, utility, and sustainability sectors.
- Outstanding leadership, influencing, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to gain credibility across executive, technical, and public-sector audiences.
- A strategic mindset and the ability to create momentum in evolving and often undefined market environments.
- Strong commercial acumen, negotiation capabilities, and a passion for creating long-term value through innovative energy solutions.
- A highly driven, self-directed professional who thrives on building markets, developing partnerships, and delivering results.
