We have built the best dealership, now we are building the best team. O'Neill Auto Group is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Intermediate Accountant to join our dynamic team.
As an Intermediate Accountant, you report to the Chief Financial Officer and will assist in all areas including but not limited to:
- Bank reconciliations
- Credit card reconciliations and payments
- Post daily banking transactions (loan payments, bank fees, etc.)
- HST calculations and filing of returns as well as making payments
- Assist with payroll functions including weekly remittance of payroll/ source deductions
- Perform account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data
- Assist with management of accounts receivable and accounts payable processes
- Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff
- Monthly reconciliations and review of schedules
- Assist in preparing year end audit working papers
- Assist with other accounting functions and duties as needed or on a required basis
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements and Skills:
- Proven experience in an Intermediate Accountant role or similar position
- Solid knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulations
- Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes (budgeting, financial closure, reporting etc.)
- Understanding of data analysis and forecasting
- Working knowledge of MS Office (especially excel) and accounting software
- Well-organized with ability to prioritize, excellent communication and interpersonal skills and attention to detail and problem-solving ability
- Post Secondary education with a focus in accounting
- Professional certification (CPA or working towards certification) is considered an asset
- Experience with PBS is an asset
