Mitri Optometry specializes in providing full-service eyecare solutions to customers throughout the GTA. This role is 100% in person, located at Highway 404 and Leslie Ave, very accessible by highway and transit.
This is an opportunity for a fully licensed optician to start and grow their career, working for one of the organized and highly skilled Optometrists in Ontario. Dr. Mitri values customer service and integrity in each customer interaction. This opportunity can grow to becoming a Optician Manager role. To start, this position will be part time with the opportunity for more hours.

Summary
The Licensed Optician will book eye exams, provide glasses consultations, be responsible for dispensing glasses, contact lenses. In addition, the Licensed optician will support in both the intake and outtake of customers and support the optometrist as required. Experience is an asset however training will be provided.
Role Responsibilities
- Connect with customers, provide them with relevant information and ensure they have a thorough experience, from their appointment to selecting glasses
- Helps customers in finding custom glasses
- Takes measurements, fits and adjusts glasses, meeting optician and optometry metrics
- Explores the needs & priorities of customers by asking open ended questions.
- Able to utilize Excel, Outlook and any other technological program required by Dr. Mitri
- Asks good questions to identify glasses that might be a fit for each customer
- Possesses the ability to multi-task, prioritize & manage time with competing priorities
- Commits to delivery date & time, seeks feedback & asks for referrals
- Self-motivator, able to work independently
- Takes responsibility for the store’s cleanliness and appearance
- Informs management of safety opportunities; demonstrates safe work practices
- Maintains Inventory, orders additional glasses and lenses when needed, keeps track of trends and keeps
- Checking in and checking out patients, completing pretesting
- Booking appointments, completing recalls
- Managing the direct billing process
- Additional duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS
- Licensed Optician verified and in good standing
- Optical dispensing experience
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, flexible
- Detail oriented
- Understanding of glasses, lenses and overall knowledge of industry
- Strong basic math skills
- Able to use technology, using computers and software platforms
- Quick learner, ability to adapt quickly
- Able to sell effectively, without being “pushy”, educating customers
