JOB SUMMARY
The Warehouse, Driver, and Service Technician Jumper supports daily operations with warehouse operations, delivering products to customers, and/or performing basic service and maintenance tasks as assigned. This hands-on position is essential to ensuring smooth and efficient day-to-day operations and customer satisfaction.
Under the supervision of the Branch Manager, the duties and responsibilities of the Warehouse, Driver and Service Technician Jumper include, but are not limited to, the following:
Delivery Support
- Serves as back up to Route Drivers, safely drives company-owned vans and trucks to deliver and pick up products and equipment
- Follows delivery schedules and ensures timely service
- Performs basic vehicle inspections and reports maintenance issues as needed
Service Technician Support
- Serves as a backup to the Service Technicians
- Performs basic service tasks, such as assembling, installing, and repairing equipment as needed at customer locations
- Performs diagnostics, troubleshoots and resolves minor issues with products or machinery
- Provides excellent customer service during on-site visits
- Escalates major service issues to the appropriate department for follow-up
Benched Equipment Support
- Performs detailed diagnostics, repairs, and testing of equipment brought back to the warehouse
- Dissembles, cleans, and rebuilds benched machines
- Tests repaired equipment to ensure proper functionality
General Support
- Collaborates and effectively communicates with warehouse, service technicians, drivers and customer service teams to coordinate tasks to support smooth operations
- Provides coverage and flexibility across roles as needed
- Assists with special projects, such as equipment setup or warehouse reorganizations
Other
- Performs other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract
- Team player, with the ability to work well independently as needed with minimal supervision
- Strong problem solving and time management skills to complete a variety of tasks in a timely manner
- Keen attention to detail
- Experience in warehouse operations, equipment handling or service/repair work an asset
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
- Usual and customary methods of performing job functions require: significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing; significant stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling
- Must be able to safely operate a vans and trucks
- Repeatedly lift and carry coffee and bottle water products weighing up to seventy-five (75) pounds
- Occasional lifting of equipment weighing up to one hundred and twenty-five (125) pounds, with assistance
- Drive thirty (30) to one hundred (100) kilometers per day
- Climb in and out of delivery vehicle multiple times per day
- Load and unload thirty (30) to thirty-five (35) pound hand cart from delivery vehicle at approximately 16-20 customer sites per day
- Use hand cart to move products and equipment from delivery vehicle into customer facility
- Job generally requires twenty (20%) percent sitting and/or driving, sixty (60%) percent walking, and twenty (20%) percent standing daily
- Able to work outdoors in various types of weather
TRAVEL
- Frequent local travel to customer business.
