Job Summary
The Human Resources Manager oversees all HR functions of the business and provides support to the management team. This role will manage, oversee, and implement human resources activities, policies, procedures, employee relations and other required support, while reporting to the Director of Human Resources.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Management of all Human Resources functions and processes for the organization.
- Full cycle talent acquisition and recruitment of all positions across the organization.
- Develop and implement companywide procedures and policies.
- Prepare, initiate and maintain employee onboarding programs across all departments.
- Manage employee benefit/EAP program, provide support and resources to employees.
- Organize, update, and maintain employee personnel records and complete HR administrative functions.
- Work in conjunction with the Operations team for workforce planning and scheduling.
- Assist and support employees, address employee issues and provide solutions.
- Monitor employee performance; oversee and manage all probationary and annual reviews across all departments
- Ensure all company policies and issues are addressed as per Employment Standards guidelines and laws.
- Organize and conduct Townhall meetings; employee surveys and engagement initiatives.
- Liaise with the finance team and various contacts/departments at corporate level, providing information and reporting when required.
- Promote a positive, respectful and employee engaged environment by implementing and managing internal employee recognition programs.
- Organize and plan all company engagement and social functions.
- Administer and manage company HRIS software for all employee related activities, not limited to updating personnel records, filing documents, managing leave activities and providing information to various entities when needed.
- Support and provide resources to employees, supervisors, and management team from an HR perspective.
- Provide support and resources for employee grievances, issues; and conduct investigations when necessary.
- Promotes and acts in accordance with all company policies, procedures, Health & Safety and Food safety guidelines.
- Acts as a back up to the Health & Safety Manger for compliance regulations and process in absence of the Health & Safety Manager.
- Performs other duties as required and/or assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Requirements:
- 4+ years in a Human Resources leadership role.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment with a large workforce is an asset
- Ability to prioritize and complete tasks on a timely basis.
- Approachable and values employee suggestions and feedback.
- Demonstrated capability, drive, initiative to learn, and easily adaptable.
- Ability to follow through and resolve outstanding issues on a timely basis.
- Excellent time management and resource utilization skills; using time efficiently and effectively.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship building skills.
- Enjoys working in dynamic, supportive team environment.
- Capable of working independently and autonomously while at the same time contributing effectively as a member of management team; considers themselves a major contributor in the achievement of operational goals.
- Proficient in using MS Office and HRIS system.
- Flexibility in working different schedules if required; operation runs 24 hours x 7 days a week.
- High ethical core belief system and commitment to lifelong learning; both personal and professional.
- Well versed with Employment Standards and laws.
- Consistently demonstrates integrity by making fair, transparent, and unbiased decisions
