Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Grill Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality BBQ dishes in a fast-paced market environment.
This role requires a strong understanding of food safety standards, excellent serving skills, and the ability to deliver exceptional food service experiences to our guests. The Grill Chef will play a vital role in maintaining the Eddie's reputation for delicious, well-prepared meals and ensuring customer satisfaction, and pleasant interactions with all our guests.
Following 4 hours on the grill at the Farmers Market, you will assist in banquets on weekends when we are catering weddings. Assist chef with prep, plating, garnishing and other asks as requested to execute an excellent quality catered wedding in a timely and efficient manner.
OPTIONAL 2nd SHIFT
Candidates looking more than 1 day per week, can work additional hours assisting with the Sunday breakfast from 7:30am to noon each week, preparing group breakfast for upto 22 guests.
Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of grilled dishes according to Chef's recipes and quality standards
- Assist in food preparation, including marinating, seasoning, and portioning ingredients
- Ensure all food handling procedures comply with safety and sanitation regulations
- Serve dishes promptly and professionally to guests, maintaining high levels of customer service
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the grill station and kitchen area
- Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure optimal results
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation during busy hours
- Follow all food safety protocols to prevent contamination and ensure hygiene standards are met
Experience
- Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or food service within a restaurant or food industry setting is preferred
- Familiarity with serving, meal preparation, and kitchen operations is highly desirable
- Knowledge of food safety practices and proper handling techniques is essential
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail is beneficial
- Prior restaurant experience demonstrating proficiency in grilling techniques will be considered an asset
