Job Overview
Duffin's Donuts is looking for a friendly, reliable, and hardworking Food Counter Attendant / Cashier to join our team.
In this role, you will provide friendly and efficient customer service, take customer orders, operate the point-of-sale system, process payments, prepare and assemble food and beverage items, and help maintain a clean and organized work environment.
The ideal candidate is friendly, dependable, comfortable working with customers, and able to stay organized in a busy, fast-paced environment. Previous restaurant, food service, or cashier experience is an asset, but not required. Training will be provided to help the successful candidate learn our menu, procedures, and service standards.
Wage: Starting at $18.25 per hour, with higher pay available based on relevant experience.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers in a friendly and welcoming manner
- Take customer orders accurately and enter them into the point-of-sale system
- Process cash, debit, and credit card payments accurately and efficiently
- Prepare and assemble food and beverage orders according to established recipes and quality standards
- Package orders accurately for dine-in and takeout customers
- Serve customers efficiently while maintaining friendly and professional service
- Answer customer questions about menu items and assist with order selection when needed
- Ensure customer orders are complete and accurate before serving
- Maintain clean and organized counters, food preparation areas, utensils, and equipment
- Follow proper food handling, storage, sanitation, and food safety procedures
- Restock food items, packaging, beverages, condiments, and other supplies as needed
- Monitor the counter and service areas to ensure they remain clean, organized, and ready for customers
- Respond professionally to customer questions or concerns and seek assistance from a supervisor when necessary
- Work efficiently with kitchen and counter team members during busy periods
- Assist with opening, closing, cleaning, and other general duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills
- Previous experience in food service, restaurants, fast food, retail, or cashiering is an asset, but not required
- Friendly and professional attitude with strong customer service skills
- Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with customers and team members
- Comfortable handling cash and processing electronic payments
- Ability to learn and use a point-of-sale system
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to order accuracy
- Good time management and organizational skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and stay calm during busy periods
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work well independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to learn food preparation, food safety, and sanitation procedures
- Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment
