What You’ll Do :
Reporting to Manager, Anti-Money Laundering, the Anti-Money Laundering (‘AML’) Oversight & Quality Assurance (‘QA’) Analyst will join Canadian Tire Bank's (‘CTB’) AML team and will play a key role in helping CTB to detect, prevent, and report money laundering, terrorist financing and/or sanction evasions activities.
The incumbent is primarily responsible for performing independent quality assurance (QA) reviews of completed investigations, validating the appropriateness of decisions, and ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations and internal policies & procedures. The role also involves submitting Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) to FINTRAC, where required, and providing subject matter expertise and guidance to investigators on complex cases. In addition, the incumbent may participate in various AML/ATF projects and initiatives as part of this role, and also serves as a key feedback mechanism by identifying gaps, recommending improvements, and enhancing investigative quality and effectiveness across the AML program.

Perform independent QA reviews of completed AML investigations including but not limited to Transaction Monitoring, Name Screening, EDD etc. to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulatory and internal requirements.
Assess whether investigative decisions are well-supported, risk-based, and appropriately documented, including escalation and disposition outcomes.
Review and submit Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) and other regulatory filings to FINTRAC, ensuring submissions are timely, accurate, and meet regulatory standards.
Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for AML investigations, offering guidance on complex or high-risk cases, typologies, and regulatory expectations.
Support continuous improvement initiatives by recommending enhancements to investigation procedures, QA methodologies, workflows, and training materials.
What You Bring:
3+ years of experience in AML/ATF/Sanctions within the financial services industry, with a strong focus on AML investigations, quality assurance/oversight, and regulatory reporting (including STR submissions to FINTRAC).
Demonstrated experience in performing independent reviews of completed investigations, with the ability to assess quality, accuracy, and alignment to regulatory expectations and internal policies.
Strong understanding of Canadian AML/ATF regulatory requirements, including FINTRAC guidelines, reporting obligations, and industry best practices.
Excellent analytical and investigative skills, with the ability to assess large volumes of data, identify risk indicators, and make sound, risk-based decisions.
Ability to identify control gaps, process inefficiencies, and opportunities for enhancement, and recommend practical, risk-based solutions.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly articulate findings, document rationale, and prepare high-quality regulatory reports.

Broadband Salary Range: $44,000 – $73,000 CAD.
Salary decisions are also dependent on other factors such as your experience, industry benchmarks, internal equity and other role-specific requirements. For critical roles, the compensation offering will be reviewed to ensure alignment with market rate and conditions and the unique value you bring to the role.
