Medallion Energy Services is seeking experienced local Meter Proving Technicians for a full-time position supporting industrial oil and gas operations in both the Red Deer and Drayton Valley locations.
This role will focus on inline proving, bench proving, measurement support, site preventative maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and reporting. The successful candidate will have strong field experience, a solid understanding of measurement requirements, and the ability to complete quality documentation in a timely and accurate manner.

Responsibilities
- Perform liquid and gas meter proving, including inline proving, bench proving, calibration, and accuracy verification on various measurement systems
- Operate, inspect, and maintain proving equipment, including portable and fixed prover systems
- Support site preventative maintenance, inspections, and measurement related maintenance activities
- Troubleshoot measurement, instrumentation, communication, and flow related issues
- Troubleshoot live operating systems independently in field and remote site environments
- Assist with installation, commissioning, and startup of measurement and analyzer systems
- Perform preventative maintenance on instrumentation and measurement equipment
- Read and interpret P&IDs, loop drawings, wiring diagrams, and related technical documents
- Utilize flow computers and measurement systems such as ROC, Bristol, Omni, Totalflow, and Emerson systems
- Support measurement operations at gas plants, compressor stations, batteries, and midstream facilities
- Follow AER Directive 17 requirements, client procedures, provincial standards, and applicable regulatory measurement requirements
- Complete proving reports, calibration records, regulatory documentation, daily tickets, and turnover packages
- Submit reports, job information, and required documentation accurately and on time
- Assist with material ordering, job planning, and coordination as required
- Coordinate with operations, engineering, accounting, instrumentation, and regulatory personnel as needed
- Maintain compliance with HSE requirements, permits, lockout/tagout, and site procedures
- Communicate clearly with supervisors, clients, and team members
- Work safely, independently, or as part of a team when required
Qualifications
- Certified Journeyman Instrument Technician preferred
- Experience with meter proving, measurement, and industrial oil and gas work is an asset
- Knowledge of AER Directive 17 is preferred
- Experience with liquid and gas measurement systems is an asset
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence required
- Valid H2S Alive required
- Valid Standard First Aid required
- Valid CSO required
- Ability to work shift work, overtime, on call, and weekends as needed
- Strong communication, organization, troubleshooting, and documentation skills
- Must be able to work well in a team or independently when required
