Position Summary:
- Conduct pre-op inspection of the production lines and follow-up on findings.
- Conducts routine visual inspections on the production line to monitor quality features such as shape, size, color and temperature.
- Conducts inspections on all production processes (shipping, storage, and manufacturing) to ensure efficiency, safety and quality.
- Complete swabs (ATP, Allergen).
- Conduct micro testing.
- Collect samples for pathogen and allergen test at third party laboratories.
- Complete NCR, FMR, NC Tracker Hold and Release, and eMDF.
- Perform thermometer & scale verification.
- Perform Glass-Plastic inspection and follow-up on findings.
- Analyze production data collected on the floor and in the batch master and record inspection data to the SAP system.
- Assist in the training of staff regarding GMPs, Allergen Control, CCP, Sanitation and Pest Control.
- Conduct employee interviews and provide on the spot training (as required).
- Participate in production meetings (as required).
- Reviewing and filing documentation.
- Recommend modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.
- All other duties as required/ assigned.
Physical Demand:
- May be required to stand/ sit for long periods of times.
- May engage in frequent bending, stooping or squatting.
- Due to the environment, must be able to work in various weather and temperature conditions which include extreme heat, humidity and cold.
- Must be able to work in tight or enclosed spaces.
Health and Safety:
- Conduct all Job Tasks in a Safe and Responsible manner.
- Participate in all Health and Safety, GMP and HACCP training as required.
- Report any accidents, incidents and unsafe/hazardous conditions to your lead hand/ supervisor.
- Report any damages of property and machinery to your lead hand /supervisor.
- Ensure that you understand how and when to use the Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) that is located in your work area.
- Ensure you comply with OHSA, WSIB, MOL regulations and/ or laws that govern “workers” responsibilities in the workplace (covered during orientation – section 28 of the OHSA i.e., “Green Book”) and Comply with Tradition Fine Foods Ltd. Safety Rules and Good Manufacturing Practices, and HACCP Programs.
Qualifications
- College or University Degree in Technical Science.
- Minimum 1-year work experience in food production plant in Quality.
- Familiar with GMPs, HACCP.
- Exhibits good communication skills (verbal and written both) and is able to work as part of a team.
- Has an eye for detail and a scientific approach to problem solving.
- Able to do shift work.
- Competent in Microsoft office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
