Requirements: Bachelor of Education - Elementary Desired Qualifications/Skills:
- Child-centered approach to instruction and building positive teacher-student relationships.
- Strong foundational knowledge of Indigenous history in Canada, and passion for implementation of the Truth and Reconciliation Committees' Calls to Action in Education.
- Effective organizational skills and classroom management.
- Knowledge of primary curriculum.
- Skilled in differentiating instruction.
- Knowledge of designing and implementing Individualized Program Plans for students with special needs.
- Ability to lead, manage and coordinate Educational Assistants in their support roles.
- Ability to liaise and work with district FMPSD Education Department, Coordinators and Consultants.
- Ability and commitment to work with school and division colleagues in professional learning activities.
- Ability to establish productive relationships with staff and parents.
- Commitment to continuous professional growth.
- Commitment to Assessment for Learning model.
- Commitment to learning and supporting Leader in Me education model.
- Willingness to participate in the school community beyond the classroom.
- Knowledge of school vision, and mission goals.
