Quality & Company is searching for a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Wood Finisher/Sprayer. This candidate will work on a team of skilled professionals to meet our client requirements. As a Finisher, our ideal candidate will follow set schedules between both the Production and Custom sectors to deliver high end results in a timely manner.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Read and understand shop drawings and follow specifications.

Prepare wood surfaces for finishing by sanding, filling cracks, and applying sealants.

Have a familiarity with different wood finishes and their application techniques.

Have experience with paint, stains, lacquers, topcoats, and glosses.

Mix paints and stains as required for samples, repairs, and ongoing projects.

Maintain finishing equipment as needed.

Must have the ability to spray different topcoats.

Perform touch-ups and recoats as required in a timely manner.

Ability to use air assist spray guns.

Promote a reduction in errors and solution techniques to ensure finishes are completed according to client direction.

Work on different assigned jobs on an independent basis in a department of other craftsmen.

Some shading/tinting needs where veneer plywood meets solids to match colour.

Touch up finished materials as required for quality control.

Track different measurements of lacquers/stains/paints to ensure matching for future jobs.

Follow safety protocols and use PPE when working with chemicals and finishes.
Qualifications and Competencies:

3-5 Years of experience as a wood spray/finisher. (2 relevant years required).

Knowledge of lacquers, paints, and stain products.

Capable of heavy lifting.

Detail and quality oriented.

Organized and able to work independently.

Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
