We are seeking a Freight Forwarding Logistician to join our Saint John operations. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, customer-focused logistics professional who is passionate about execution excellence and building strong relationships. The successful candidate will coordinate day-to-day freight forwarding shipments, manage documentation and milestone tracking, and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service, quality, and efficiency within the Freight Forwarding Department.

Operational Execution

Coordinate and execute end-to-end freight forwarding shipments (air and ocean) to meet service commitments, customer deadlines, and delivery requirements
Prepare, review, and manage shipment documentation and coordinate customs clearance requirements as needed
Participate in an on-call rotation to support operational continuity

Customer & Stakeholder Management

Act as a key point of contact for customers, providing timely and professional responses to inquiries, updates, and service requests
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, carriers, customs brokers, and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate execution and on-time delivery
Provide proactive shipment status updates and resolve issues quickly to maintain service levels and customer satisfaction

Business Growth & Continuous Improvement

Stay current on market conditions (capacity, rates, and service changes) and share insights to support service decisions and customer expectations
Support carrier sourcing and rate negotiation by obtaining pricing from carriers, forwarders, and service providers and preparing customer quotes when required
Monitor shipment milestones using transportation/logistics systems and tools (tracking/tracing, exception management, coordination), providing timely updates and escalating issues proactively

Successful completion of an undergraduate degree; a major in Business Administration or Commerce is an asset
Experience in logistics, transportation, and/or freight forwarding is preferred; however, we will also consider new graduates with strong academic achievement and a demonstrated interest in supply chain and logistics
A willingness to learn, take initiative, and grow in a fast-paced operational environment (training and mentorship provided)
Strong systems aptitude and data literacy, with the ability to use operational tools and reports to support day-to-day decision-making and service performance
Strong communication and negotiation skills, both written and verbal
A customer-focused mindset with a proven ability to deliver on commitments and build lasting relationships
Highly organized and detail-oriented with excellent follow-through
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think on your feet
Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Self-motivated, adaptable, and energized by a dynamic, team-based environment
