The Education Assistant will establish effective working relationships with teachers, parents and the community. A strong background and expertise working with students with a wide range of physical, cognitive, social and emotional differences including:
- Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Trauma
- Down Syndrome
- medically fragile
- mild, moderate and severe intellectually delayed
- ADHD
- self-care personal assistance
Experience working with students with complex needs that includes collaboration with educational support teams and therapists, such as SLP, OT, and Behavioral Consultants is an asset. If you would describe yourself as possessing a love for all children, with strong interpersonal skills and have the ability to multi-task in a busy school team environment then we welcome your application. Preferred applicants will have a Educational Assistant Certificate and experience with the Montessori program.
