Job Summary
The Sales Supervisor is responsible for leading daily sales floor operations and supporting inventory management, receiving, merchandising, and overall store operations within a duty-free retail environment. This role provides day-to-day leadership to the sales team, delivers exceptional customer service, and serves as the primary point of contact in the absence of management.
Working alongside the team, the Sales Supervisor leads by example, drives sales performance, ensures operational excellence, and creates an outstanding shopping experience for every customer.

Shifts are scheduled during our busiest periods, including evenings and weekends. Key Responsibilities
Sales Floor Supervision & Customer Experience
- Supervise sales floor operations during assigned shifts to ensure efficient, customer-focused execution.
- Support sales associates in delivering exceptional customer service and resolving escalated customer inquiries or concerns.
- Monitor customer flow and maintain service levels during peak periods.
- Reinforce customer service standards, sales behaviours, and brand expectations.
- Provide sales floor coverage and merchandising support as required.
Staff Leadership & Support
- Provide day-to-day guidance, coaching, and support to sales associates.
- Assist with onboarding and training new team members.
- Address minor performance issues and escalate ongoing concerns to management.
- Foster teamwork, accountability, and a positive workplace culture.
- Act as the primary point of contact during shifts when management is unavailable.
POS, Cash Handling & Currency Exchange
- Support checkout operations and ensure transaction accuracy.
- Operate the POS system and process customer transactions.
- Handle cash, debit, credit, and currency exchange transactions accurately.
- Ensure compliance with procedures relating to refunds, exchanges, gift cards, alcohol, tobacco, and other regulated products.
- Assist with balancing CAD and USD tills and maintaining required cash levels.
- Ensure debit and credit receipts are properly organized and filed.
Compliance, Safety & Store Standards
- Ensure compliance with duty-free regulations, company policies, and loss prevention procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the sales floor, stockrooms, and receiving areas.
- Promote workplace health and safety by identifying and reporting hazards.
- Ensure merchandise and inventory are properly secured.
Communication & Reporting
- Communicate operational issues, inventory concerns, customer feedback, and staffing needs to management.
- Complete shift updates and operational reporting as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Merchandising & Visual Presentation
- Ensure merchandise is fully stocked, attractively presented, properly priced, labeled, and compliant with duty-free requirements.
- Execute promotional displays and seasonal merchandising initiatives.
- Maintain store presentation standards at all times.
Inventory Control & Store Operations
- Support receiving activities by verifying shipments, checking manifests, and ensuring merchandise is accurately documented.
- Ensure compliance with duty-free procedures and applicable CBSA requirements during receiving and inventory handling.
- Assist with product replenishment to ensure shelves remain fully stocked.
- Report damaged merchandise to the Warehouse Supervisor.
- Assist with inventory-related operational tasks and support warehouse functions as needed.

- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift merchandise throughout the workday.
Qualifications
- Minimum three (3) years of retail and customer service experience, including supervisory and leadership experience.
- Experience with point-of-sale and inventory management systems.
- Experience with inventory control, receiving, and merchandising.
- Cash handling and currency exchange experience; FINTRAC knowledge is considered an asset.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to lift and move merchandise as required.
- Valid police clearance required.
