Overview
Tropical Nights Restaurant & Lounge is seeking a friendly, attentive, and professional Server / Bartender to join our dynamic team. This role is essential in delivering exceptional guest experiences through outstanding customer service, efficient food and beverage service, and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality, strong communication skills, and experience in restaurant or food service environments. Previous experience serving food and beverages and familiarity with POS systems such as Micros POS are highly valued.

Responsibilities
- Greet guests and provide friendly, professional service.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders and ensure timely delivery.
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with company standards.
- Operate POS systems, including Micros POS, for order entry and payment processing.
- Handle cash, debit, and credit card transactions accurately.
- Promote menu items and specials to enhance the guest experience and increase sales.
- Verify guest age and ensure responsible alcohol service in accordance with applicable regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the dining room, bar area, and service stations.
- Follow all food safety, food handling, and sanitation procedures.
- Assist with basic food preparation and support kitchen staff during busy periods when required.
- Address guest inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
- Assist with opening, closing, and side duties as assigned.
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure efficient operations during peak service periods.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Server, Bartender, or in a hospitality-related role preferred.
- Valid Smart Serve Certification required.
- Experience using POS systems such as Micros POS is an asset.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication and multitasking abilities.
- Basic math skills for cash handling and payment processing.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and responsible alcohol service practices.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Positive attitude, reliability, and strong teamwork skills.
