Overview
We are looking for a skilled and reliable Construction Labourer to join our construction team both at Tollestrup Construction (2005) Inc - TCI Utilities and Maverick Concrete Ltd.. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys hands-on work and wants to be part of dynamic building projects. As a Skilled Labourer, you will support various aspects of construction, ensuring projects are completed efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and eager to learn new skills in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Assist with reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to support project execution.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment safely and effectively to perform tasks such as framing, concrete forming, and masonry work.
- Prepare construction sites by clearing debris, setting up scaffolding, and ensuring safety protocols are followed.
- Support carpentry tasks including cabinet installation, flooring, tile laying, and framing.
- Perform concrete finishing, concrete forming, and masonry work to ensure quality standards are met.
- Aid in plumbing, electrical work, and restoration projects as needed to support diverse construction activities.
- Assist with construction estimating tasks by providing accurate measurements and material requirements.
- Support painting, caulking, welding, and flooring installation efforts to enhance project completion.
Skills
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings with confidence.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment operation.
- Prior experience in construction or related fields is highly desirable please specify if you have experience in Shallow Utilities, Concrete, or Construction.
- Knowledge of concrete finishing, masonry techniques, carpentry skills including cabinet installation and flooring.
- Familiarity with electrical and plumbing systems is a plus.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures on construction sites to prevent accidents.
- Good communication skills for collaborating effectively with team members and supervisors.
