We are currently seeking a Welder who has the knowledge and experience with mild steel, and the ability to work a straight afternoon shift. Hours of work are Monday to Thursday, 2:00pm to 12:00pm.
Position Summary
The Welder is responsible for fitting and welding metal assemblies in accordance with mechanical drawings and welding specifications. This role involves interpreting blueprints, accurately performing MIG / TIG welds on mild steel, and ensuring that all work meets quality and safety standards. The Welder must have strong attention to detail, be able to work independently or as part of a team, and consistently follow established safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Fit up and Weld Assemblies according to drawings including proficiency in Mechanical Drawing reading (blueprint reading).
- Produces strong welds that are smooth, non-porous and consistent with drawings.
- Understand various weld form symbols on blue prints and understand the size of the fillet forms.
- Proficiency in MIG welding mild steel.
- Proficient in the safe and proper use of grinders, drills and face shields.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a welder.
- Canadian Welding Board Certification for MIG welding in the flat position
- Concise and clear written and verbal communications skills.
Note: Applicants will not be required to have prior Canadian work experience to be considered for this role.
