About the Role
We are a growing plastics manufacturing company seeking a hands-on Quality & Operations Coordinator to maintain our quality and food-safety programs, respond to customer quality requirements, and support day-to-day plant operations.
This is not a desk-only quality position. The successful candidate will regularly work on the production floor, inspect products, investigate concerns, communicate with employees and customers, and help ensure that customer and regulatory requirements are consistently met.
This is a broad position combining quality-system management, customer support, product inspection, production coordination, documentation, and continuous improvement. The specific operational responsibilities will be based on the successful candidate’s experience and abilities.
Key ResponsibilitiesQuality Systems and Compliance
- Maintain and continuously improve our FSSC 22000, ISO 9001:2015, FDA/IMS, and related quality and food-safety programs
- Maintain procedures, work instructions, forms, records, specifications, and quality documentation
- Prepare for and participate in certification, regulatory, customer, and internal audits
- Follow up on audit findings and corrective and preventive actions
- Ensure required quality checks and records are completed accurately
- Assist with employee training relating to quality, food safety, GMPs, and company procedures
- Review and update HACCP plans, risk assessments, and related programs as required
Customer Quality and Technical Support
- Respond to quality-related questions and requests from customers and sales representatives
- Complete customer questionnaires, specifications, compliance documents, and certificates
- Investigate customer complaints and coordinate corrective-action responses
- Communicate professionally with customers regarding specifications, test results, quality concerns, and corrective actions
- Review special or complex customer requirements before and during production
- Ensure customer-specific requirements are clearly communicated to production employees
Product Inspection and Production Support
- Conduct quality checks on manufactured products, with particular attention to complex or demanding customer specifications
- Verify dimensions, gauge, appearance, printing, packaging, labeling, sealing, and other product requirements
- Identify nonconforming products and coordinate containment, investigation, rework, or disposition
- Work closely with production supervisors, operators, maintenance, sales, and management to resolve quality issues
- Monitor recurring defects and help implement practical improvements
- Support trials, new products, new specifications, and process-improvement projects
Operational Responsibilities
- Assist with production documentation, work-order review, scheduling coordination, and order follow-up
- Help track production performance, waste, downtime, quality results, and corrective actions
- Participate in operational and continuous-improvement projects
- Help improve communication and accountability between departments
- Take on additional plant-support responsibilities based on experience and company needs
Qualifications
- Previous experience in quality assurance, quality systems, food safety, manufacturing, or a related role
- Experience with FSSC 22000, ISO 9001, HACCP, GMP, SQF, BRCGS, FDA/IMS, or similar programs is strongly preferred
- Manufacturing experience is required
- Experience in plastics, flexible packaging, food packaging, printing, extrusion, or converting is an asset
- Strong written communication skills, including the ability to prepare professional customer responses and corrective-action reports
- Comfortable working directly on a manufacturing floor
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Able to investigate problems, determine root causes, and follow corrective actions through to completion
- Able to manage multiple priorities and work independently
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and document-control systems
- Able to work effectively with production employees, supervisors, customers, auditors, and management

Pay: $75,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
