Status: Full-Time / Part-Time
Shifts: Various shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Pay Disclosure:
- Retirement Residences: $20.82 – $21.71
- Long-Term Care Homes: $28.38 – $30.18 per hour
Starting rate, wage progression, and premiums are determined by the applicable collective agreement.

Position Summary
As a Health Care Attendant / Personal Support Worker (HCA / PSW), you will provide hands-on, compassionate care to support the physical, emotional, and social needs of our residents.
Working as part of a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team, you will assist with activities of daily living and support each resident’s dignity, independence, and overall well-being in alignment with established Care Plans and AON’s mission and values.
Key Responsibilities
Resident Care
- Assist residents with personal care, including bathing, dressing, mobility, feeding, and other activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Provide cognitive, social, emotional, and palliative support to residents and families
- Support restorative care programs and encourage resident participation and independence
Care Delivery & Documentation
- Deliver care in accordance with individualized Care Plans, policies, and procedures
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care and observations
- Communicate changes in resident condition to registered staff
Communication & Teamwork
- Collaborate effectively with team members, residents, and families
- Foster respectful, professional relationships across the care team
- Respond to resident and family concerns promptly and professionally
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Follow infection prevention and control (IPAC), workplace safety, and fire safety protocols
- Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and applicable legislation
Qualifications
- Valid Personal Support Worker (PSW) or Health Care Aide (HCA) certificate, or equivalent (e.g., first year of a recognized nursing program)
- Experience in retirement, long-term care, or geriatric settings preferred
- Knowledge of responsive behaviour programs (e.g., GPA, U-First!) considered an asset
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
- Ability to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
