Artemis Gold is a well-financed, growth-oriented gold development company with a strong financial capacity aimed at creating shareholder value through the identification, acquisition, and development of gold properties in mining-friendly jurisdictions. The Company's current focus is the Blackwater Mine in central British Columbia approximately 160km southwest of Prince George and 450km northeast of Vancouver. Reporting to the Human Resources Superintendent, the Recruiter is responsible for leading full-cycle recruitment and supporting the development and execution of talent acquisition strategies that attract, engage, and retain qualified employees across the organization.
Preference will be given to candidates residing in Prince George or Vanderhoof areas, as the successful candidate will be expected to work primarily from the Prince George office on a Monday to Friday schedule. Regular travel to the Blackwater Mine site, approximately once per month. While this is the preferred working arrangement, remote work may be considered for the right candidate.
Working closely with operational leaders and the Human Resources team, the Recruiter partners with hiring managers to understand current and future workforce needs, develop recruitment strategies, build talent pipelines, identify innovative sourcing opportunities, and deliver efficient, high-quality hiring processes that support BW Gold's operational objectives while continuously improving the organization's overall talent acquisition function.
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate strong safety leadership by promoting and adhering to BW Gold's safety standards, procedures, and systems.
- Lead full-cycle recruitment for site and corporate positions, including creating position descriptions, job postings, sourcing, screening, interviewing, reference checks, coordinating the offer process, drafting offer letters, and working with HR and hiring leaders to finalize compensation, rotation schedules, and start dates.
- Partner with operational leaders to understand current and future workforce needs, develop recruitment strategies, and provide guidance on hiring decisions that support departmental and operational objectives.
- Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract qualified candidates across a variety of technical, trades, operational, and professional roles, with a focus on supporting the mine's long-term workforce requirements.
- Build and maintain talent pipelines for critical and hard-to-fill positions by leveraging networking, industry contacts, LinkedIn Recruiter, career fairs, educational partnerships, and other sourcing initiatives.
- Develop proactive recruitment initiatives to support future workforce planning, succession planning, and anticipated hiring demands across the operation.
- Support BW Gold's commitment to local, Indigenous, and diverse hiring by building relationships with communities, organizations, educational institutions, and employment agencies, while promoting inclusive recruitment practices.
- Act as a trusted advisor to hiring managers by providing market insights, recruitment recommendations, interview guidance, and best practices to support effective hiring decisions.
- Ensure a positive candidate experience through timely communication and professional representation of BW Gold throughout the recruitment process.
- Act as the primary point of contact for candidates throughout the recruitment lifecycle and coordinate onboarding activities to ensure a successful transition to site.
- Maintain accurate recruitment records and reporting within iCIMS and other HR systems, including weekly recruitment updates, monthly Indigenous recruitment reporting, vacancy tracking, and other recruitment metrics.
- Monitor labour market trends, recruitment metrics, and hiring outcomes to identify opportunities, recommend improvements, and enhance recruitment effectiveness.
- Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives related to recruitment processes, systems, candidate experience, and talent attraction strategies to support the ongoing development of BW Gold's recruitment function.
- Collaborate with HR and operational leaders on recruitment planning, workforce initiatives, and projects that support business growth and operational success.
- Support employer branding initiatives that promote BW Gold as an employer of choice within the mining industry and local communities.
- Attend career fairs and recruitment events and travel to the Blackwater Mine site approximately once per month.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of progressive recruitment or talent acquisition experience, preferably in mining, construction, industrial, or other high-volume operational environments.- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience developing and implementing recruitment strategies, workforce planning initiatives, and talent sourcing strategies.
- Experience recruiting for remote, camp-based, or geographically dispersed operations is considered an asset.
- Strong knowledge of recruitment best practices, employment legislation, and inclusive hiring practices.
- Proficiency with applicant tracking systems, HRIS platforms, LinkedIn Recruiter, and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Power BI is considered an asset.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and build partnerships across all levels of the organization.
