Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes, standards, and presentation guidelines
- Assist in menu planning by suggesting new dish ideas and improvements based on customer preferences and seasonal ingredients
- Handle food safely by following proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures
- Use knife skills and cooking techniques to efficiently prepare ingredients and assemble dishes
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen station throughout the shift
- Support food service operations by coordinating with servers to ensure timely delivery of orders
- Contribute to catering events or special functions as needed, ensuring high-quality meal preparation and presentation
Experience
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food industry setting, preferably as a line cook or culinary assistant
- Knowledge of dietary department standards and dietary aide experience is a plus
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in meal preparation techniques
- Experience with menu planning, food preparation, cooking, and food service operations
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude toward serving guests and supporting kitchen staff
