Job Summary:
The Main Role of the Farm Management Support Advisor is to provide the customers of Grand River Robotics with professional training and advice applicable to the functions of the Lely Horizon software program with the Lely Astronaut Milking Robot, and their dairy businesses. The role also includes working alongside the Senior FMS Advisors in their daily tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Training new robot customers through their process from conventional to successful robotic milking operations, using current and up to date FMS templates and trainings made available from the Corporate Lely Farm Management Support group.
- Assist the customer by evaluating their farms and analyzing the herd, feed and computer data, and then summarizing the data and advising the customer with practical advice to help the customer reach their goals.
- Report on farm potential service issues to the service department in order to alleviate potential problems with the robots.
- Train and work with Industry representatives ie. vets, nutritionists, feed specialists, etc. with the best management practices for successful robotic milking.
- Work alongside the sales department to ensure the sales department is bringing appropriate Farm Management Support knowledge to the marketplace. This can include participating in sales meetings and sales calls.
- Monitor levels of Farm Management Support knowledge of the Customers and recommend appropriate course of action or advise.
- Utilize knowledge and findings of the farm advise program and make suggestions to the manager.
- Trouble shoot problems that may be robot related, or that may be impacting the robot or herd performance.
Skills and Specifications:
- In depth knowledge and practical experience of bovine nutrition and herd management.
- Good listener, trainer and communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated independent and disciplined individual with analytical skills.
- Team worker able to maintain the team spirit over long distances.
- Willing to travel to farms frequently and therefore able to operate flexibly for long hours.
- Able to get along well and be open minded with a wide range of dairy professionals.
- Enthusiast and multi-cultural professional, able to communicate through webinars.
- Able to keep the overview but also pay attention to minute details.
- able to generate and perform presentations for larger groups of stake holders.
- Able to make easy to understand practical Farm Management Support documentation and tools.
- Able and willing to generate to the point progress reports of Dairy customers.
- Full understanding how to operate and explain internet-based software solutions.
Independently scheduling webinars, visits as needed.
Pay: $55,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Fergus, ON
